Rotary joints for radar equipment
Sivers is a leading and internationally renowned supplier of products for the data and telecommunications market. They develop, manufacture and sell high-quality components, modules and subsystems based on their own advanced semiconductor technology in microwaves, millimeter waves (EHF) and optical semiconductors. We have been a supplier to Sivers for more than 10 years and have worked continuously with them in various projects. The parts we have created for Sivers have challenging geometries and tolerances, which places high demands on both manufacturing and verification. With such a specific business area, Sivers places great importance on having a supplier who really understands how their products work. When Sivers was to manufacture rotary joints for radar equipment, we were therefore commissioned to manufacture all the parts that are included in the rotation mechanics.
Suppliers often have difficulty proving that they have manufactured this type of part according to the drawing and many supply constructions that must be soldered in a salt bath. Our task consisted of manufacturing items that do not need to be soldered in a salt bath, without sacrificing quality and accuracy – naturally. The finished parts were delivered on time according to a rigid schedule. And the results were excellent. According to Sivers, it was the first time they were able to build their instruments without compensating for production flaws.
